Have I ever told you I can be spontaneous?
In spite of being a habitual, overly compulsive planner…maybe to the point of needing therapy…I can also be very impulsive.
That makes no sense at all.
I’ve come to terms with the fact I’m a complicated creature…
…in a very uncomplicated way.
See what I mean?
Don’t worry, I confuse myself all the time.
Actually, all that nonsense is irrelevant. The point of this post it to share two 30 day fitness challenges I’m doing and ask you to join me.
If we are friends on Facebook, you may already be privy to what I’m about to share.
December 1st, or somewhere there about, a plank challenge showed up in my Facebook news feed. It wasn’t the first one I’ve seen. These challenges make their way around the internet on a frequent basis. I’ve never joined in because I usually see them several days after the suggested start date. Without time to plan accordingly, I file away the thought of participating until such time when proper preparation can occur.
(That would be the “planner” in me talking. And honestly, who IS this overly-orderly chick anyway? Does one really need a plan in order to hover 6-inches above the ground for increasing amounts of time? The answer to that question would be… no.)
This time when the 30-day challenge appeared on my screen, I was in a spur-of-the-moment-who-needs-to-plan state of mind. The time had come for me to take a stand and do what I kept promising myself I would do…one day.
So I shared the post with my Facebook friends and asked who wanted to join me.
(And here is where my “Let’s-just-go-with-it” personality takes over. I kinda like this version of me more than the neurotic one mentioned above. Do you agree?)
Doing these challenges is fun. The hard part is remembering to do them. This is where the words “team” and “community” and “friends” come into play. Several pals joined in and we are supporting each other. It isn’t hard to remember to git ‘er done when you have others posting that they have already got ‘er did.
(Sorry. Seems every last ounce of my crazy is showing today.)
So how ’bout it? Wanna join us? I know we are 5 days into the challenges but 25 days are better than none. It’s a great way to throw a little physical activity in during the mad rush of the holiday season. Plus there is a bonus. If you fall into the stereotypical category of diving into a fitness routine as a New Year’s resolution, you will already be ahead of the game when January rolls around.
The details for the planks are posted below and on Facebook. Just comment on either post and let me know which one (or both) you will be participating in and I will tag you. If we have yet to become friends on Facebook, let’s change that! And while you are at it, I would be ever so grateful if you would like My Extraordinarily Ordinary Life’s Facebook page.
If Facebook isn’t your cup of tea, leave a comment here or shoot me an email and we can support each other.
Disclaimer: Safety ALWAYS comes first! Please, please, please read these links to learn how to properly perform planks and wall sits. I am in no way shape or form an expert in this field so take on these challenges at your own risk.
