The news is out. I am going to be a grandmother.
For weeks…actually months…I have been wanting to share the news. Time after time I would craft a post expressing my excitement. Yet I could not string together the right words to convey my true feelings. The idea of becoming a grandmother…knowing my son will be a father…well, it is overwhelming.
And it is absolutely wonderful.
Saturday we showered the parents-to-be with gifts for their new little one. Without thinking, I posted the above picture to Instagram and shared the link on Facebook. And just like that, the news was out. All that over thinking…writing and re-writing…it was a total waste of time. The only thing I needed to do was upload a photo and caption it with a few select hashtags. Simple. Right?
Now for the details. On July 30th, these two are expecting a little boy. Interestingly enough, exactly 27 years ago my own little boy was born on that very day. A little boy who has become a wonderful man. A man who will be a fabulous father.
July is a really big month for my family. July 12th my baby girl will be marrying Keenan. They will be relocating to Canada July 14th…two very short days after the wedding. Roughly 2 weeks later, my baby boy is expecting to welcome his own baby boy.
Life is good.
Life is changing.
Some changes are bittersweet.
They are all cause for celebration.
I am so blessed.
P.S. Thanks to everyone who has commented and messaged me regarding the tablescape. I had so much fun putting it all together. Although I was a little worried. My decorating skills for anything child related are a bit rusty. 🙂
