It’s been rather quiet here the past week or so. There hasn’t been much time for blogging. So much has happened in such a short amount of time.
July was a flurry of activity. First my daughter, Keri, moved home from Georgia a few weeks before her wedding. Two short days later she and Keenan set out on a cross country trip ending in their new hometown of Vancouver.
As Keri’s mom, you can imagine my emotions were all over the place with that life changing event.
Merely two weeks later, my son Taylor and his wife Leah welcomed a sweet, adorable, precious baby boy…Hawkins. Can you tell I’m hopelessly in love?
The process of welcoming Hawkins into our world began on a Friday evening, ending with his arrival around 2:00 pm on Sunday. If you do the math, you will quickly realize there were MANY hours spent without sleep as we anxiously waited to meet him. The new family of three is doing well and life is forever more changed.
In and among the big events, life has continued. Work has been demanding and my social life has been equally busy. This past weekend I attended the Becoming conference where I learned much, laughed until I hurt and made wonderful new friends. And just because I’m a bit of an overachiever, I also helped host a wedding shower on Sunday after the conference.
Now…I am tired. But feeling oh so very good.
When thinking about all the activity that July held and the events that kicked off my August, I can’t let this day pass without mentioning another life changing event. Exactly 4 years ago, I heard the words “You Have Cancer”. I have acknowledged the previous anniversaries of this fateful day with other blog posts. (Here and Here)
Today….I simply celebrate life and all the beauty that it holds. I am alive and well. July took me on a journey of saying good bye to one child and welcoming a new little one into my life. The month long journey emphasized the incredibly long one I’ve made in four very short years.
Today…I simply celebrate life and the blessings, grace and mercy God continually provides.
To each of you who have made this journey with me, I send you all my love and many hugs…
