Wednesday I did my very best to tackle Hollywood Housewife’s One Day challenge.
Seems I wasn’t the only one.
Thousands and thousands of photos were uploaded to Instagram using the #OneDayHH hashtag.
The point was to record images…moments…from our everyday in order to one day look back and simply remember.
The images I took were random and would prove boring to most. Yet the project proved to be powerful to me. As I scrolled through many of the shared pictures, I was drawn to all that I have in common with total strangers. Even the not-so-common made me pause, think and many times comment. Dishes, errands, homework, doctor’s appointments, exercise routines, meals made and shared…it was all interesting to me.
Call me crazy, but I love the ability to connect with people through pictures. Even if they are strangers. Maybe it has to do with the fact I live alone. I’m not really sure. I just know there was something about going through the day with others that made my heart smile.
Here is My One Day:
Overslept again. Day 3 waking with a horrible headache. #OneDayHH
Hoping caffeine will help cure the pounding in my head. #OneDayHH
Armed (pun intended) with my compression sleeve to prevent #lymphedema #BreastCancer #OneDayHH
Casual day at the office. The lack of a smile and lazy eyes prove I’m over this 3 day stretch of head pain. But totally in love with this cozy sweater. #OneDayHH
My desk this a.m. #OneDayHH
Newest addition to my #lyphedema fighting arsenal. Not needed all the time but always close at hand (oh the puns) #BreastCancer #OneDayHH
Favorite lunch hangout #OneDayHH
Green cap low sodium soy sauce with sushi… a lunchtime favorite. #OneDayHH
Merrimon Ave…my weekday “road most traveled” #OneDayHH
Fall colors are almost gone…the leaves have fallen…but it is still a beautiful drive from lunch to the office. #OneDayHH
Reading glasses required. #OneDayHH
Do you think I might…just maybe…have a coat fetish? I live alone people. As in the coat closet only houses MY coats. Thanks @hollywoodhwife for #OneDayHH and prompting me to take a closer look at what I usually overlook. I now realize I have a shopping addiction.
Favorite fall scented candle, body butter and devotional. Time to wind down and #relax. #OneDayHH
The day is done #OneDayHH
