Lately I have been feeling very nostalgic. Time keeps rolling on and the memories keep piling up. I mean, can you believe November is almost here?!?!? When I consider my son just celebrated his one year wedding anniversary and my daughter is making plans to move to Canada, it is no wonder I keep dwelling on days gone by. With each passing year, life shifts and change occurs.
While strolling down this online memory lane I have created, I realize there could be a post or two or ten that makes me question what ever possessed me to share some of the things I have shared.
They might even give my children valid reasons to seek therapy.
Posts like Assume The Position and I Have A Tummy Ache are not exactly literary genius. They are more like bad…really bad…reality TV. But there is no denying they show evidence of a life well lived, even if it isn’t stellar “stuff”.
Many are my favorites.
All for different reasons.
But there is one post that wins the prize for sentimental value.
I originally posted it March 31, 2009. I had only been blogging a very short time. It was a time when blogs were just coming into vogue (for all I knew) and social media was not quite what it is today. In this post, I actually go on record and state I do not like Facebook. That I find it “shallow”.
Yeah, I was not in my right mind.
Facebook lovers please don’t be hating ’cause I’ve got that one covered. I’m hatin’ on myself enough for ALL of us. But the interesting thing is that one look at the comments made on this post, proves I wasn’t alone in my early judgment of Mark Zuckerberg’s genius.
Four and a half years has taught me the err of my ways. Facebook and I are now “tight”. In fact, I’m quite cozy with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and my love of all loves…Pinterest. Actually, Facebook and Pinterest are in an on going war to steal my heart.
All that stuff I said way back in the day (circa 2009)…the stuff that was obviously stupid…fuggedaboutit!
But all that nonsense isn’t the reason this post qualifies as my favorite. If you read all the way to end, I think you will see why this mama loves this post so very much.
and it would be oh so cool if you would…
